  • Hello! I am Yesmina (she/hers). I am an educator, artist, poet, and mental health professional.

Well, I am a lot of things. My relationship with wellness, healing, and human rights are the heart of my passion for my work. I am committed to creating healthier communities by working toward justice, liberation, and a future that addresses the cycle of systemic harm.

Prior to starting Sonoran Wellness Innovations, I supported regional and national mental health technical assistance centers, served as a school mental health professional and district leader, and served as the Director of School Safety & Social Wellness at a state education agency (Arizona Department of Education).

This space is for anyone who wants to connect, learn more about Sonoran Wellness Innovations and the resources available to help, to network with other professionals, or to share ideas for a wellness or equity initiatives in your community.

No idea is too big or too small to make a difference – we are all connected. Need a partner, guide on the side, or resources to help improve outcomes? Keep going to learn more about me and how I might be able to support.

  • Relationships Matter:

Improving complicated systems or cultures requires mutual trust, communication, and honesty. What relationships are in place? What relationships need nourished?

    Community:

Success multiplies with community involvement. Build partnerships, welcome feedback, and make decisions with the people you serve rather than for them – whether those people are your employees, your students, or your clients.

    Equity Centered:

Systems were not designed by the people that they disproportionately harm.

“The function of freedom is to free someone else.” – Toni Morrison

    Data Driven:

Data is fun and I can prove it to you! There are multiple types of data and you may already have access the data you need to get started.
